The touring cabriolet by Herman Brunn of Buffalo was available on several chassis : Lincoln , Pierce Arrow and Packard. It was the preferred body style of Henry Ford the elder. The first use of the touring cabriolet coachwork was in 1936 on Herman's personal Lincoln K V-12. It was offered in the Lincoln catalogue in 1937 , 1938 and 1939. Three of the collapsible models were built on Lincolns in 1938 and at $ 7600 , they were the most expensive Lincoln cars built ever prior to the 1955 Continental Mark II.
This particular car was essential all original when purchased in 1974. Lincoln K-9130 was purchased from the Brennerman estate near Hershey , PA when the last owner mr. Paul J Loree was attending the annual AACA meeting. He used it as a tour car for ten years before undertaking a six year ground up frame off restoration. from 1974 to 1984 , Paul and his wife Sally did three Glidden tours and four Classic Car Club Caravans with this great car. When finished with the restoration , during the four years it was a showcar , it was awarded NINE National First prizes including : Classis Car Club of America Senior , Lincoln Owners club , and Antique Automobile Club of America Grand National. After the last awards , Paul turned down an impressive offer of $350,000 , electing to keep and enjoy the car. Following the showcircuit , it has participated in seven Caravans thruoghot the continental USA ( Including the transcontinental tour of 1995 and many Florida CCCA and VMCCA tours in the Southeast. The colour - Washington Blue , is a beautiful , almost black darkblue and the dove gray top and interior complement it very well. This car was always carefully maintained and pampered it's whole life. It is essentially ready for the next proud caretaker , except for some light cosmetic work that is easy to do.
