1932 Reo Royale Hot Rod

One of a kind 1932 Reo Royale street rod. One of five 1932 Reo Royales still in existence. This automobile was built to stand out from the crowd at any event entered. This Good Guys award winner optimizes the phrase "done right". No stone was left unturned in building a national level show car that drives as good as it looks. Let's start with the exterior. Finished in PPG viper red basecoat/clearcoat paint, the flawless body shows many hours of expert body work. A few custom features were added to the all steel body during the build. The top was chopped 2 1/2 inches, handles shaved, power antenna was recessed along with LED front and rear lamps being installed. Over 150 hours of fabrication work went into the custom stainless steel grill, 56 polished stainless steel bars make a true one-off custom grill that resembles a '32 Ford grill. A 3 piece steel hood with solid non-vented sides covers the 502 big block and '39 Chevy headlamps light the way. The interior done in a supple tan leather with custom built Wise Guy power seats and custom door panels surround you in rich luxury. A polished I-Did-It tilt steering column with a polished Colorado Customs billet steering wheel provide control. The MP power brake booster and pedal stops the Reo and a billet Lokar throttle pedal applies the power. VDO gauges in a custom designed and built dash monitor the vital signs. Creature comforts are endless. The Vintage air conditioning system with heat/defrost and the 10 CD audio system make long trips pleasurable. Power windows and door locks round out the interior options. Now to mechanicals. From the GM 502 Ramjet crate motor with 502 horsepower and custom built TPI 700R4 transmission to the polished and chromed Kugel Components front and rear suspension, this car makes a statement. The polished EFI 502 Ramjet Chevrolet big block provides more than enough power with excellent modern drivability. Factory engineered to perfection with 502 horsepower aid 565 lb. ft. of torque. Billet aluminum March pulleys and brackets with billet power steering pump, polished a/c compressor, chrome powermaster alternator and starter round out the engine accessories. The cooling system is a custom built copper/brass radiator with a thermostatically controlled 3500 cfm electric fan. Custom built headers and exhaust are jet hot coated from front to rear. A custom build TPI 700R4 transmission and converter with deep aluminum pan, Lokar dipstick and cooler with custom steel driveshaft send the power to the wheels. The overdrive of the 700R4 makes highway cruising a breeze. The Kugel components front and rear suspensions are works of art. A Kugel Phase II polished and chromed front suspension along with a polished and chromed Kugel 9" 3.73 ratio independent rear installed. Power rack and pinion steering, billet coil over shocks, billet calipers and stainless steel spindles are just a few of Kugel's features. The 20 gallon stainless steel fuel tank offers a long cruising range. 15x7 and 15x8 Colorado Custom billet wheels with BF Goodrich comp T/A 245 and 275 60 series radials give the car the right stance. Over $170,000.00 in parts and labor were invested to make this one of a kind street rod showcar.
